October 1st, 2009

If you have one or both sides of the “Perfectionist Habit,” you spend a lot of time analyzing and organizing and procrastinating until you are certain that everything is aligned for your success. Instead of suffering over it, reschedule it…

September 26th, 2009

Have you noticed that sometimes you get aggravated if you mess up your schedule – when you didn’t do what you said you were going to do, when you forgot to do something, when something got in the way or you were interrupted in the middle of something important? Starting right now, put negativity aside. What Limiting Habits are you invoking with these thoughts that are just making you wrong? Perhaps your “Hard on Myself Habit” or your “Perfectionist Habit?” How about a simple acknowledgment such as, “Oops, I missed that,” or “I didn’t finish that?” No self-judgment, just the facts.

Instead of suffering over it, reschedule it. Reschedule the meeting or workout, reschedule the piano practice and that hour to write. This is important because by taking positive, proactive steps, you get further into the “Success Habit” and “Feeling Good Habit.” As soon as you stop suffering, trust me, it’s going to be a lot easier to reschedule whenever a situation arises. pg 176

The beauty of our work here is that you can get your power back in an instant.  pg 84

What are some of your familiar internal and external comments or phrases about time?

September 2nd, 2009

How often have you justified something not happening and/or felt distressed about an intention or goal that was not completed or even started due to time constraints?  Our words about time are often a covert displacement of what we are not dealing with. We play the time card instead of looking directly at our Limiting Habits to see what really puts up the roadblock. pg. 158
